Let’s collaborate!
We love it when a plan comes together, especially when it delivers on every level! Our client asked us to create a space that was refreshingly different, not just in terms of the look and feel, but also in the colours and shapes of the tables and chairs.
In common with many clients, they are planning for a post-Covid hybrid working setup, so the space needed to be flexible. On the one hand they wanted a quiet area for reading but to marry that with the option of team members working alone at a desk with laptop stands or getting together in dedicated spots for meetings of four to ten people.
As you’d expect, connectivity was key to ensure their efficiency, with all users having access to power and mobile charge points, so we embedded those in the tables and desks.
A key area in this social and working space was the kitchen, which needed to include tables of various sizes to provide different options for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or for a quick catch up over coffee.
Lee Alexander, owner of Alexander Green, is seeing an emerging trend when it comes to refreshing office and social spaces. ‘In the light of Covid-19, many businesses have fundamentally changed the way they work and, therefore, the configuration of their office space,’ says Lee. ‘As well as ensuring all the necessary Covid-19 compliance measures are in place, they are increasingly looking to develop flexible collaboration and social areas, rather than defaulting to banks of desks. We’re enjoying this development as it allows us to be creative with layouts and furniture styles, whether it’s soft seating, indoor pods or benched seating for coffee breaks and dining.’
