Bringing Newable teams together

Based in central London, Newable helps businesses thrive through funding, professional support and premises, so we were delighted to be introduced to them by Health & Safety consultant Paula Santomauro. Paula runs Your Company Works, and engaged us to make recommendations on the best office seating for the Newable employees who were working from home and then to deliver the chairs directly to them. This initial project went so well that Newable asked us to design and install some bespoke desktop viral screens in their head office.

In particular, they were concerned about the real wood breakout/study benches in the social area which were designed to bring teams together, but which weren’t being used due to Covid-19 concerns. The desks potentially created a convenient hub for informal meetings and a nice chill out area, but were largely redundant.

Newable were keen to incorporate the screens around the built-in lighting, and we achieved this through some creative design to ensure that no damage would be caused to the real wood desktops. Desktop viral screens are usually stuck down to the surface, but we were able to design them so that the top central screen held everything in place, thus removing the need for them to be stuck down. And the really positive outcome is that 12 members of staff can now use this area for its intended purpose with no concerns over Covid compliance.

As Lee Alexander, owner of Alexander Green, explains, projects such as these are very rewarding. ‘In common with almost every business in the UK, Newable have had to adapt during the pandemic,’ says Lee. ‘We were delighted to be introduced to the Newable team by Paula in order to help ensure that all employees working from home were given the most appropriate office chair. And it was very pleasing then to be asked to help bring a lovely meeting/social space back to life with some bespoke viral screens. What’s great about our viral screens is that they can be designed and manufactured to fit any furniture and space, and also that they invariably look as though they have always been there, not just bolted on during the pandemic.’

Alexander Green offer Covid-19 surveys and desktop viral screens in Cambridge and across the UK, so please contact us to learn more.
