13 years and counting with British Cycling!
Alexander Green owner Lee Alexander is proud to have celebrated his 13th anniversary with British Cycling recently!
From their HQ in Manchester, British Cycling co-ordinate road, off-road and track cycling events and training for thousands of riders every year. They also promote healthy lifestyles through cycling.
British Cycling are making a massive contribution to young people’s lives, as Lee explains. ‘Having myself started BMX riding as a hobby and then risen to be British Champion in my early cycling career, I’ve now been very fortunate to help hundreds of kids to enter the world of BMX,’ he comments. ‘Some simply turned up at the Royston Rockets BMX Racing Club having never even ridden a bike, let alone tried BMX, and with proactive training they’ve gone on to become British Champions within just four years!
‘I’ve always loved BMX, and my mantra has consistently been that it needs to be fun – in fact, if it isn’t fun, it isn’t worth doing! Not only that, if you’re having fun and working hard, you’ll give yourself the best possible chance of becoming the very best you can be.
‘My enthusiasm for BMX has also rubbed off on my daughter Harriet who is now one of the UK’s most respected BMX coaches despite still being at university!’
